The world we live in is becoming more and more intolerable because of environmental destruction. Bird flu and Sars are two typical examples that environmental destruction may threaten our life. Besides, forest destruction , water and air pollution result in decrease of planting land and unpleasant weather.

Serious as the problem seems, we can come up with some measures to deal with it. First of all, the authorities should adopt the policy of sustainable development, and laws concerning environmental protection should be put into effect and enforced strictly just as our government has been doing. What s more, every citizen should realize the seriousness of the problem and make concerted efforts to protect our environment. In addition, planting trees helps improve and beautify the environment.

Cars give pollution to our air,so remember：walk, ride a bike or run,used our legs. Its more fun!

There were few people on the earth,and natural resources seemed to beunlimited.Today things are different. The world has bee too crowded. We areusing up our natural resources,and polluting our environment with dangerouschemicals.

If we continue to do this,human life on earth will not survive. Werealize that if too many fish are taken from the sea,there will soon be noneleft. Yet,with modern fishing methods,more and more fish are caught.We knowthat if too many trees are cut down,forests will disappear. Yet,we continue touse powerful machines to cut down more and more trees. We see that if rivers arepolluted with waste products,we will die. Yet,waste products are still putinto rivers.

We know that if the population continues to rise at the present rate,in afew years,there won't be enough food.What can we do to solve these

problems?Ifwe eat more vegetables and less meat,there will be more food available. Landfor crops feeds five times more people than land where animals are kept.Ournatural resources will last longer if we learn to recycie them.The worldpopulation will not rise so quickly if people use modern methods of birthcontrol.

Finally,if we educate people to think about the problems we shall have abetter and cleaner planet in the future.

Its time that we must do something useful to protect our environment. We can plant trees and take good care of them. We can save the water and ask our parents to do so.
